In a business sense, these metrics describe your ultimate goal success. Once a report on these metrics is received, however, it is too late to act on. The performance and behavior that drove this measure is in the past.

For example: A bakery whose ultimate goal is overall customer satisfaction. Once a month they get a customer satisfaction survey that explains how the new recipes are received as well as how much joy is created by giving out free samples.
