Evolution is running a giant [[lesson-04_generate-and-test]]❌ algorithm.
Both the generator and tester are quite dumb but very complex.
- Generator: Genetic mutation
- Tester: Survival/fitness
Interesting to note: the tester is testing organisms against their environment, which itself is a collection of other generated solutions which themselves are being tested.
In this case, the testing is competitive between solutions. There is no objective goal. Success just is flooding the environment in your generated solutions. You are “successful” if you can generate more.
