Private businesses can do what they like, they can base their business on crt if they want - but they can’t violate federal civil rights law and discrimination laws.
Three biggest problems:
- race essentialism. An individual can be reduced to a racial category and then loaded with connotations (positive and negative
- Collective guilt: holding people responsible for historical crimes and injusitices by those who may share some characteristics with you
- State-sanctioned racial discrimination and segregation.
