only a small percent of students actually participate in de-platforming and protests. the rest are essentially yielding to social pressure and the worry of bad press that will follow them out into the job market. for the masses of students, it’s a case of self-preservation - not a pervasive culture of cancel on campus. yet another case of the few extreme voices writing the narrative for the rest of the population
