Started around May 2021, after finishing [[ref_reamde-neal-stephenson | REAMDE]]❌. Took me picking it up and putting it down again a number of times in the first hundred pages before it really started to get sticky in mid-July 2021. For a little while the time-jumping was confusing and I didn’t care about any of the characters. Had the sort of silly feeling of “I don’t know who the main character is so I’m not paying particular attention to anyone.”
